Our little vacation 2010

We Headed out about 3:30 a.m July 2nd for a long drive to Nebraska.
We were about 10 minutes into the drive and Eli ask are we there yet.
It felt like it was going to be a long trip. We arrived in Halsey Nebraska around 7 that night.
Grandpa C. was in charge of the 4th of July celebration. They had planned it for the 3rd.
We ate and then started helping him finish up with his work. On the 3rd they had lots of
fun things for the kids to do. They had a dunking tank, cake walk, turtle races and a free BBQ dinner then they did a live band street dance and fireworks when it got dark. It was a lot of fun.
We all helped out with whatever was needed.

On the 4th we were recovering and helping Grandma with the motel rooms. The kids asked if they could make some money by helping out. Beau helped with whatever was asked along with Devon. Coby helped a lot the first few days and then hung out watching cartoons. Eli helped clean and haul laundry and fold wash clothes which he really liked doing. Well about the end of our stay at there place Coby realized he really wanted more money so Grandpa told him he could crush all of the cans in the garage which is about 7 huge bags. Coby agreed and started smashing them. He did about 1 bag by himself then his brothers were trying to help him.
I can say this was inventive.

They are all loading up.

I think the younger ones enjoyed this more then Beau did but it worked really good.

Who knew you could have so much fun smashing cans.

We then went to a fun pond so the boys could go fishing and swimming.

They have a little boat that they could paddle with and fish from.

They also went off a diving board. Here is Eli going off. He only did it once. He didn't like going under water.

This is the fish Eli caught.
We went to Reptile Gardens on our way to Mount Rushmore.

We saw an alligator show.

They had lots of snakes and they even got to touch some of them.

This one looked like it really wanted to see Eli everyone.

This log was really neat to see. This was a very big turtle. The worker just got her to stand up so we hurried to take the picture.
